In order to help students understand their work in math, have them talk it out! Use these sentences prompts and math word bank to help guide them to a deeper understanding of their math work. This can also help the teacher, parent, and student pinpoint where the student needs help. You may want to send this home for parents to use as well! Place in math journals or folders for students to use as a reference.

Students complete against one another in this Multiplication Battle Tournament. This can be a class or grade level competition. Rules are included in presentation. An invitation slide is also included. Students can cut and pass out these invitations to give to parents or other teachers.

Students step into the role of investigator while they search for how numbers are used in the real world. They have been hired as photographers for a magazine to create a photo spread on where numbers are found in their world.
