This end of the year activity is a big hit with my classes! The memory book is filled with themed pages, prompts, and spaces for students to gather notes and signatures. We typically spend about 3-4 class periods working on these books. Some of the pages included are: -classroom highlights -all about me right now -teachers' spotlight -school mascot This was also designed to be open ended, so it works for all middle school grades. I hope your students enjoy making their own memory books!

30 random trivia questions from students grades 5-12! This activity is great for end of the year celebrations and can be done with large groups of students. It can also be a great way to kick off your school year! All of the answers are included in the slides!

This sildeshow covers the Aztec, Maya, and Inca civilizations. It includes printable fill in notes for students and a post note activity for each civilization. It also has multiple videos embedded into it to break up the note taking. This was designed to be ELL (English Language Learner) friendly with simple context focused langauge used throughout. I had great success with this in my 6th grade ELL social studies classes. I hope you find it jsut as useful in your own classes!

In this assignment students are asked to make their own flag and then explain their reasoning behind what they create. It has a brainstorming activity built into it help the stduents get their ideas out onto paper before creating their final flag. I use it as a begnign of the year activity as one way of getting to know my students. However, you could use this at any time really. Have some fun with your students before the holidays! This is a complete trivia game that highlights 10 different winter holidays around the world. The game is broken down into 5 rounds, with 10 questions in each. All answers are revealed at the end of each round. This was designed with multiple rounds so it can be broken up over the course of multiple days if needed. For example, you could let your students play 1 round per day for a week. These word wall slides come in 5 different languages! They have English, Spanish (red), Portuguese (green), Haitian Creole (blue), and French (purple). All of the words in this deck have a central theme of natural forces, specifically hurricanes, volcanoes, and earthquakes. There are 24 word cards in total each including: the definition, the main word in all five languages, a picture, and an example sentence!

This slideshow explains how to determine viewpoint of texts in three different ways. The first is through pictures, the second through pictures and texts, and the final way is just through a text. It was designed for ELL (English language learners) but would work for any students!

This activity was designed for a newcomers' social studies class. The students in this class are learning English but all have a home language that is either Spanish or Portuguese. In the activity students will be reading about different gods and goddesses from ancient Egypt and then creating a poster about one to share with the class. This is a pre-reading vocabulary activity for the greek myth about Prometheus and Zeus. I used it with my 6th grade level 3 ELLs (English Language Learners) as an opening activity. Each student was assigned one word to work with. This could easily be adapted to be done: individually, in pairs, or small groups instead. The objective is to fill in a slide for each key vocabulary word that: defines the word, uses it correctly in a sentence, describes what the word is not, and pairs a picture with

ELL friendly product! These trivia slides are all open ended questions about the ancient civilization of Mesopotamia. Each questions slides does have an answer slide following it. My co teacher and I used this as an end of unit review and it took a full 45 minute class period to complete. The class it was designed for is a level 2 ELL class, so all students in the room have limited English. I hope your students enjoy this as much as our did!

This is a digital work tracker that is already build out for September - June. I designed this to use in my own classroom to help keep my chronically absent students up to date on their missing assignments. It can also be used year after year. This activity is ready to use! It includes a grammar introduction to the 8 major parts of speech (one slide per part), two color by part of speech activities, and answer keys for both. This is valentine's day themed and can easily be used again and again. For my 6th grade level 3 ELL students I know this activity takes 1-2 classes to complete, 45-90 minutes.
