This project was designed for level 1 English Language Learners in 6th grade. This acticity was used in an ELL (English Language Learner's) level 1 geography class. It was used to recape physical features and get students to start exploring which types of physical features that can be found in Latin America.
This resource is a student facing worksheet that helps students work through a Khan Academy video about determining theme. I used it as a whole class assignemnt but it would also work as an independent or asyncronous assignment. The studnets I used this with were 6th grade, level 3 English Language Learners, so it is ELL friendly.
This is a free extension activity that goes with the Thanksgiving vocabulary game in my store. This activity was designed for a 6th grade newcomer social studies class. It is great for students who do not yet know English or who are still in the beginning stages of learning how to read.
