This is a lesson plan including handout for students to preview the vocabulary in Roald Dahl's "The Landlady." Students are expected to determine the meaning of unfamiliar vocabulary words using context clues from the text. The PDF lesson plan (which can be viewed as slides) goes through the process and steps for students to practice on the skill of using context clues. A paced lesson plan is also included at the end.

This presentation includes a description of the classroom employees, an employee application, and a paycheck given to chosen employees. The employee slides have a description of each role (TA, Circulation Director, Host, Room Manager, and Technology Director). Students fill out the application for their first choice job.
