I have been a high school math teacher for over 20 years. Currently, I am teaching AP statistics, Introduction to Statistics and AP Computer Science Principles.
This lesson is about how to choose which measure of center is best - Mean, Median, or Mode. I use this lesson in my Introduction to Statistics high school course. The guided lesson shows examples with skewed data and without. There is a practice (homework) assignment with 6 questions. An answer key to the entire lesson is provided as well.
There is a pdf file study guide for each topic in the AP Statistics curriculum. Exploring Data, Normal Distributions, Linear Regressions, Experiments and Designing Studies, Probability, Random Variables, Sampling Distributions, Confidence Intervals, Hypothesis Tests, Comparing Populations, Chi Square Procedures, and Inference about Regression. I have students complete one for each unit. At the end of the year, they have a great study packet for the AP Exam! Student feedback has indicated that t
This assignment has students working on completing and reading two way tables and Venn diagrams in order to find probabilities. I have used this as a graded assignment and most recently gave it as partner assessment in Google Meet breakout rooms. There are two multi-part questions involving two-way tables and one with Venn diagrams.
This is a worksheet created for students to practice identifying exponential growth and decay functions, writing and solving models and graphing exponential growth functions. It has a Halloween theme and is perfect to give around the holiday. I usually use this as a sub plan if necessary in October.
68 point assessment with answer keyThis is an assessment that I use with my AP Statistics classes on sampling techniques. The assessment consists of : 6 matching (2 points each)5 True/False (2 points each)5 Multiple Choice (3 points each)3 Fill in the Blank (2 points each)3 Short Answer (6 points each) 1 Essay (16 points)The answer key is included. The sampling methods covered are census, SRS, systematic, stratified, cluster, voluntary response, and convenience. Enjoy! Feedback is always welcome
At the beginning of each unit, I give my students a study guide that is due the day of the unit test. These guides are a good way to prepare for the unit as we go. At the end of the year students have a nice reference book for the whole course!

This is a study guide that I give to students at the start of the unit. They are required to complete it and turn it in on the day of the unit test. At the end of the year, they have one for each unit which serves as a great study resource! Feedback from students has also indicated that these are good preparation for their unit assessments.

I use the study guides for each unit. Students are given them to work on at the beginning of the unit and they are due on the day of the chapter assessment. Student feedback has indicated that not only do these guide help prepare for the unit assessment, but they also serve as a great way to study for the AP exam!

At the end of the year students have a nice reference book for the whole course! This study guide covers single population parameter estimation.
This is a short warm up quiz that I give students in an Introduction to Statistics course. The quiz is made up of questions related to mutually exclusive events, probability from a table, and using the addition rule.
This is my first upload. It is a brief lesson on the difference between populations and samples, parameters and statistics. Included are notes, a guided note sheet for students, homework, and answer keys. Enjoy and please feel free to give me feedback. I am just getting started with this and hope to upload many more lessons for Introductory and AP Statistics!
