This is a great activity to break down the steps of the scientific method. Students start out by making observations about their hands and then form a hypothesis to "test" which one is dominant by having them see how many boxes they can check in a thirty second time period. They record their data and graph it in order to justify that their left or right hand is dominant (since it should be the hand that checks more boxes).
