I like to make my job as simple as possible and be as efficient as possible. I NEVER take grading home with me, and people always ask how I manage that. One of my favorite tricks is creating excel sheets to QUICKLY grade essays. What I did was to create Excel spreadsheet that automatically calculates my students' essay scores as I place their scores in the rubric. I dislike paper attendance sheets so I decided to create an Excel Spreadsheet that takes attendance for me! I have created it so that if I input any of the following (or a combo) it automatically counts the number for each student: T=Tardy P=Present A=Absent B=Behavior problem

I work hard to intergrate technology and fun into my lessons! I love to use Prezis, Wikis, and songs/movie clips in my classroom. (my kids seem to like it too!)

My own education history

I was homeschooled throughout my entire early education. In fact, my first day teaching in the classroom was my first day in a public school! I hope that my background with homeschooling sometimes give me a fresh take on things when it comes to teaching.

Additional biographical information

I LOVE to read. I try to complete a book every other day (this normally works unless I am doing schoolwork!) I have two cats and two dogs...basically I am the quintessential/ sterotypical English teacher!
