Problem of the Day Template

I love to do a "Problem of the Day" each day as a warmup with my students. This is a single problem that either reviews a concept we've already learned or is aligned with the concept we are covering that week in class. I project the word problem on the board and after reading it as a class, students complete this sheet independently. This product includes two different templates. Each template is only a half sheet to save that priceless paper!

This product is perfect for printing out and laminating for use with small groups or in centers. In early grades, this can be used with manipulatives to show placing two parts and then combining them into a whole. It can also be used with whiteboard markers if laminated to organize thinking during a math word problem! This works best with addition and subtraction and even has an option to help students practice using the math vocabulary word "sum!"

This product works well with an introductory vocabulary lesson for shapes. Students can either write the definition and draw an example or you can print the version that already has the definitions filled in and simply have students draw an example to match.
