I am currently a 7th-grade science teacher! This is my 4th year teaching 7th grade science and I have 1 year of experience teaching high school chemistry. I have taught in New York and I am currently in South Carolina.
In this valence electrons practice activity, students will identify and model the subatomic particles of elements and their valence electrons. The slides include examples and 8 practice problems. This should take about 20 minutes. This works well as independent activity or whole class instruction. If you plan on doing this as an independent activity, I would suggest doing the first two practice problems together. Can be modified to add more challenging elements.
