This Black History Timeline task card activity could be used as a start to a Black History unit as it is by no means comprehensive. Each group receives the same task card, but a different reading and materials. Topics include: Slavery and Freedom, the Civil Rights Movement, Black Lives Matter, Music, and TV/Film. Students are tasked with creating a timeline by matching dates, images, and captions and using the text for support. Each group presents their timeline, using details from the text.
