Students to write additive and multiplicative equations from tables and graphs at a 6th grade level with 9 pages (18 problems. Most of the problems are of the form y=kx or y=x+b with a few challenging questions at the end with 2 steps in the form y=mx+b. This product contains 9 pages (18 problems) The problems start easier and get progressively more difficult, including fractional slopes and y intercepts with decimals. Full Answer Key Included. Task Cards for 6th Grade Linear Equations including y=mx and y=x+b. Each task card includes a table, graph, equation, fill in the blank description of the situation, and a box to identify the independent and dependent variables. Equations include additive and multiplicative situations and include a mixture of fractions, decimals and whole numbers. All situations are carnival themed. This is perfect for an end of unit review of linear equations in 6th grade math. Full Answer Key Included. Al
This product includes 4 contexts with a space to use the given information to fill in the table, graph, equation, and fill in the blank description. It is an editable google doc so you can add or remove questions as you see fit, but you can not edit the tables, graphs, etc. Check out my similar products here: Writing Equations from Tables and GraphsAlgebraic Representations Task Cards - Carnival ThemedAlgebraic Representations Bundle
3 pages of two-step equations with space to check your answer by substituting it back into the initial equation. All four operations included along with a few fractions, decimals, negatives, and problems requiring the distributive property! The first problem is completed as an example, making this perfect for stations or sub plans!
Scientific Notation Problems start VERY accessible and get gradually more challenging. Each question has students write the expanded form and the standard form and some ask for the scientific form given the standard or expanded form. Great for group work with building thinking classrooms or independent practice after a lesson.
After using several visual patterns as warm ups building up to writing equations, I created this to push my students to figure out how to determine the slope and y intercept of an equation from a table that skips x values and doesn't include 0. This worked great with Building Thinking Classroom practices, especially with students who are familiar with writing equations from visual patterns. I've personally used it with advanced 6th graders and 7th graders. A detailed answer key and questions
These random grouping cards contain 120 sets of matching cards to use for random grouping. Each set has 3 cards that are equivalent for students to find their random group for the day. This is a total of 360 cards for you to choose from or change throughout the year. You can choose topics ranging from multiplication facts, equivalent fractions, decimals and percents, all the way to equivalent expressions with exponents and variables. The cards are meant to be simple enough for students to quick
A page of exponents practice and a page of prime factorization practice, each with a completed example at the top. This would be a great activity for a sub day or for students with learning needs who benefit from completed examples. It is a completely editable google doc so you can delete the completed example too if you want. Answer Key Included!
Each product in this bundle contains one or more completed examples, making them perfect for sub plans because they are self explanatory. Answer Keys Included!!Topics IncludeExponents and Prime FactorizationConverting Fractions to Decimals with Long DivisionSolving One Step Equations
Winter Holiday-themed fraction multiplication and division word problems. Includes 3 pages of problems (14 total problems) with space to show work and an answer key. Problems relate to various holiday traditions, including Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Posadas. Division problems include mixed number dividends and unit and non-unit fraction divisors, making this perfect for 6th or 7th grade or advanced 5th graders. If you want non-holiday word problems, check out Fraction Division Word Prob
Card sort matching fraction multiplication problems to various visual representations and verbal descriptions. The recording sheet and follow up reflection questions ask students to sort the problems into expressions where the product is less than both factors, less than one and greater than the other, and greater than both factors and generalize when each happens. Check out my other card sorts focused on connecting visual representations and algebraic/numeric expressions. Properties of Operati
Includes a card sort illustrating the properties of operations and a printout activity where students determine which expression is not equivalent. The bonus file is notes that follow the concrete representational abstract progression to help students develop a better understanding of the properties of operations. Great for an introduction to equivalent expressions and using variables to represent unknown values in 6th grade.
3 pages of one-step equations with space to check your answer by substituting it back into the initial equation. All four operations included! The first problem is completed as an example, making this perfect for stations or sub plans!
This activity includes shapes with two columns. One for students to find the correct numbers substituted into the formula correctly, and one with the final answer (area or missing side length). There are several distractor cards that do not match with any of the problems so students have to pay careful attention to make sure they are choosing the correct card. This also includes an independent follow up worksheet that does not come with cards so students have to write in the formula and answer.
This google doc contains multiplication and division word problems with fractions and mixed numbers. They range from very easy to challenging. There are also 4 real world, multi-part challenge problems included that would be great from a Criterion D task if you are at an IB school or if not, great to push your high-achievers.
Properties of Operations Card Sort with a variety of visual representations illustrating the Distributive, Commutative and Associative Properties. Contains 29 expressions, 29 visual representations, and 29 verbal descriptions. Some of the expressions are equivalent to another expression in the sort illustrating one of the properties and some are not equivalent illustrating common mistakes and misconceptions. Includes some cards with only numbers and some with variables. *Due to the different t

Challenging Problems designed for group work on area and perimeter. Fixed area and fixed perimeter problems to push student thinking. Ideal for students who area already familiar with area and perimeter. I gave these to my 6th graders to refresh their memories from previous grades and still challenge them. It can also be used to help students understand why when one of the side lengths is less than one, the area will be less than smaller than the other side length.
This 4 page packet is the perfect sub plan activity as each page is scaffolded with examples and ordered thoughtfully so that questions get progressively more challenging. Includes 2 pages of Visual, Solve the Equation, and Check Your Answer and 2 pages of Word Problems where students write the equation. Includes equations of the form Ax+C=Q and Ax+C=Bx+D. Answer Key included for the first two pages only. The word problem pages have multiple correct answers for some questions.
