I have been teaching for 14 years. My first ten years were in grades 2-5, all subjects and one year teaching science as a special/encore teacher to grades 3-5. For the past four years, I have been working as a reading specialist with grades 5-8. I also work closely with the RTI process and with curriculum development and assessment in my district.

Student Council Documents
These documents are intended to help you get started with a Student Council organization at your school. It includes the paperwork (information sheets, permission slips, guidelines, ballots, etc.) that I use for the students in my school. This could easily be adapted to use for an elementary school or a high school.

The Runner Strategy for Reading (Standardized Testing)
These documents include a strategy I call The Runner Strategy to teach students how to answer multiple choice questions, specifically on standardized tests. Included is an introduction to what the strategy is and how it should be used, a flyer for student use, and bookmarks for student use. Could easily be adapted for other testing subject areas.
