This is a set of 5 forms you can print off today to use on the first day of school.
1. Classroom Rules according to YOUR OWN CLASS NAME(NOT rules... expectations)
2.Detention form you can send to parents
3. Why I Don't have the assignment (so you have documentation for parents)
4. A lengthy paragraph ready to use during detention. Students must copy.
5. A form you can use so you don't forget "who" is supposed to come in to your class on what day.
You will receive a template that is for 8 words (4 on the front and 4 on the back).
I make a big stack of templates for students to put in their notebook and when we have finished with 8 words, they get a new form. Students have come back for years to tell me that many of their words were on their PSAT test.
Attached you will find 4 pages that you can make your own. It will include:
1. A letter to the sub detailing my classes. There is a place where you can add the instructions for the day.
2. A form letter that the sub may leave with notes to you
3. General information about your classroom
4. OUR SCHOOL'S "lock-down policy" written out very clearly. You might want to adapt it to yours. Many subs have told me this has really comforted them in knowing what to do.
You will receive 119 words that you can pop into a power point or use on an overhead or just copy. I teach one word a day and test after 10 words. The first 5 tests will be available for purchase.
Each vocabulary word will have its part of speech, originating language, definition, and a synonym. The template is available of purchase, also. It will have places for 4 words on the front and a4 on the back.

This is a set of quotations for every letter of the alphabet. I have writtten them on a big tablet so that every Monday, I flip to the next one. We discuss it, use it in our writings, and they must memorize it and say it to me some time during the week for a grade. They hear them on tv, read them in books, and hear them in daily living.
You are welcome to use the forms I made. Hopefully, they will save you time. Save them to your computer. Change for your use. Print out.
Page 1. Absent report- Each student has a partner for each six weeks. When that partner is absent, they fill out an Absent Report and give it to me to make necessary changes/additions. I hand them thier personalized absent report with any worksheets, etc... when they return. I keep a big stack in the classroom, so they don't have to ask.

This worksheet is for the first week of school....with a discussion of names and why they are important. It can be used alone or with a partner after they read "My Name" by Sandra Cisneros.
I found that trying to manage my students' reading was difficult, so I made up a form where they know exactly how many pages they need to read daily to finish their book in a reasonable amount of time. I put 4 on one page.
