Use this list to help your students expand their character vocabulary.

This project can be used with any set of vocabulary or word wall words in which students are learning the definitions. This is a fun activity for students to create for any holiday and give to a parent or any special person in their lives. It’s also a terrific way to integrate technology in a meaningful way. The students will create a video message and picture for the puzzle. The video is then attached to the puzzle using an augmented reality app such as Aurasma. After the aura is made and attached, the puzzle pieces can be wrapped in tissue and sent home as a gift. Don’t forget to send directions with the gift

This is a great way for students to demonstrate their knowledge of math. In this activity, students use the Educreations app to create a video about a selected math topic. Educreations is a free screencasting app. The students work in small groups to complete the activity template. When they are finished with the template, the students will use the Educreations app to created their video. Once completed they can link their video to the homework assignment using the Aurasma app. Directions for us

This is a fun, culminating activity after the 100th Day of School that also incorporates technology in a meaningful way. After they complete the number template, the students create a poster and video with their number's information. This contract will help your students understand the importance of taking care of the classroom iPad®.

We usually do this project during the holiday season. In this activity, teachers assign students three friends to write a kind message about. The teachers should encourage the students to use the character vocabulary rather than physical traits. This is one of our favorite mindfulness activities. This helps get the children's body to move and mind to rest. Take a walk, and look for something red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet or purple. Keep going through the colors, in order, until the end of your walk. You can do this anywhere, at any time of year. Printable and directions provided.

In our classrooms, students create self-portraits at the beginning of each year, and these are hung on their lockers before Parent’s Night. Any type of art medium can be used, and these can also be laminated. Students then work in pairs to record videos of each other that will welcome their parents when they visit through the magic of Aurasma. This is a great opportunity for students to stop and think about acts of kindness that happen every day at school. It’s also a terrific way to integrate technology in a meaningful way. The teacher puts together small groups of three students. Each student is given the role of Screenwriter, Director, or Artist. They will act our their script and connect it to the picture to make an interactive poster using augmented reality.

This is a great activity for students to create at the end of the year so that they can pass on information to future students. It can be handed out to the new class on the first day of school the following school year. It’s also a terrific way to integrate technology in a meaningful way.

This is a great wrap up activity after a student finishes a biography. It’s also a terrific way to integrate technology in a meaningful way. Students are paired and given the roles of Artist and Videographer. The Artist will create a portrait of the person from the biography and complete the written template. The Videographer will then record the Artist reading the report on an iPad®. Another idea is for the artist to dress up as the person for the video. When the video is created, it can be att

Students chose a favorite book that had been previously read. They wrote about their books using the provided template. Students worked with a partner to create an augmented reality project. When the book reviews were linked to the book covers in Aurasma, they were placed in a special basket in our classroom and labeled “AR” so that friends could view each other’s recommendations.

Because we have multi-age classes, each year we only have 8 new students. Our older students interviewed the new students and collected information about their new friends on the template provided. The information and illustrations were used to make an augmented reality project for the beginning of the school year. The illustrated copies were hung in the classroom and were viewed by parents and visitors to learn more about our new friends.
