Ice-Breaker Activity: "Find Someone Who"

I've used this activity as an ice breaker in the college courses that I've taught, but it can be used with 3rd graders and up. This one is geared towards teachers of English language learners (ELLs) and in professional development workshops. The questions can be modified and changed depending on your participants.

Experience

Teaching style

Eclectic! I don't think that there is one right way to teach. A great teacher looks at her/his students and asks, "What do I need to do to help my students be the best they can be...in the classroom and in their lives?" My favorite quote is from Paulo Freire: “The teacher is of course an artist, but being an artist does not mean that he or she can make the profile, can shape the students. What the educator does in teaching is to make it possible for the students to become themselves.”
