This sort it activity helps students recognize and remember different ways to make long vowel sounds. There is a sort it page for each long vowel sound: ā, ē, ī, ō, ū And 8 sentences and pictures for each long vowel sound (each sentence uses about 4 long vowel words). How it works: Students can see and hear the different ways that a single sound can be spelled. Example for the long i sound: Tr y to f ind f iv e br ight t ies. Y, I, I_E, IGH, IE Students will sort words from sentences in
