About the store

Experience

I am an experienced elementary music educator with 6 years of teaching General Music, Band, and Choir. In addition, I have 5 years of experience as a Marching Band Front Ensemble Instructor. I am passionate about creating engaging, hands-on, and culturally responsive music lessons that help students develop their musical skills and love for music.

Teaching style

I use Kodály and Orff pedagogy to create hands-on, sequential, and engaging music experiences for students. My approach emphasizes singing, movement, and instrument exploration to develop strong musical skills in rhythm, melody, and pitch. I incorporate multicultural music from around the world to expose students to diverse musical traditions and help them build cultural awareness alongside their musicianship. My goal is to teach a world music curriculum to general music elementary students in a rigorous, yet fun and engaging way.

My own education history

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Music from San Francisco State University in 2019 and completed my teaching credential program at California State University, East Bay in 2020. I went on to earn my Master of Music Education (M.Med) from Kent State University in 2023, further deepening my expertise in music pedagogy and curriculum development for elementary and secondary students.
