Experience

Hi there! I'm a K–8 music teacher with years of classroom experience and a passion for creating engaging, practical resources that actually work in real-life classrooms. As the content leader for music teachers in my district, I’ve had the opportunity to support other educators by sharing strategies that are both meaningful and manageable. Teaching style

My teaching style is student-centered, structured, and full of heart. I believe in setting clear expectations while building strong relationships with students, so they feel seen, heard, and empowered. Whether I’m teaching kindergarten music or middle school band, I aim to create a classroom culture that’s engaging, inclusive, and rooted in mutual respect. I bring this same energy to the resources I create—everything is designed to be practical, purposeful, and adaptable to your unique classroom needs.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Some of my proudest moments as a teacher don’t come with trophies—they come from the little victories: a breakthrough with a tough student, a class that finally nails a tricky rhythm, or a note from a parent saying, “My child loves music because of you.” That said, I’ve also earned the Excellence in Teaching Award twice, and had the honor of being a mentor to new teachers, leading professional development sessions, and serving as the content leader for music educators in my district. These roles have given me the chance to grow as a leader and to share what I’ve learned with others who love teaching as much as I do.

My own education history

I earned my degree in Music Education from Saginaw Valley State University, where I developed a strong foundation in both pedagogy and performance. My time at SVSU helped shape my passion for teaching and gave me the tools to create engaging, effective lessons for students of all ages. I’m always continuing to learn and grow—because great teachers are lifelong students, too!
