I love making tutorials and step by step guides for students to use for their assignments in class and wanted to be able to share these resources to help pay for the equipment that I use to create the videos, etc.

Newspaper Portrait Collage
This project teachers students about the grid method and collage techniques. There are two separate assignments. One is a newspaper collage worksheet that students can practice using the grid method to draw the simple shapes then collage on top of them for practice and the final slideshow with the step by step directions on how to complete the project. I work in a variety of media including traditional art mediums such as drawing, painting, sculpting and digital medias such as adobe programs, photopea.com, and even animation. I love making tutorials and step by step guides for students to use for their assignments in class and wanted to be able to share these resources to help pay for the equipment that I use to create the videos, etc.
Teaching style
For digital art and graphic design I have students do a practice project first so that they can learn to use the various tools then give them a final project where they use the newly acquired tools to solve a creative problem. Instead of using the traditional rubric I put questions for the students to review about their project to ensure they are going to make a good grade.
In visual studio art I have students do worksheets to help them master certain techniques before giving them a final assignment. This allows them to practice the techniques first before starting on a final assignment.
