This inferencing booklet provides students with 7 quick activities that students can complete independently! Students are required to make inferences based on images. They are asked to highlight the visual cues that lead them to make their inferences. I used this as bell work one year and sent it home as homework another. It can also be used at a literacy center.

This booklet is a great way to have students practice making text-to-self connections. Each page has a short passage and students are to think of a way to connect to what is written. Students can easily connect to the feelings or events in each situation as they are relatable. They must make a personal connection and directly link it to the text. This is a great practice booklet for language centers or it can be send home as a homework booklet.

This is a very simple break-down of the three levels of government in Canada. It is editable (so you can input your city name). For each level of government, students can fill in the leader and examples of what that government is responsible for. I usually accompany this lesson by showing pictures of our leaders and visiting the Canadian government website to identify government responsibilities.

This worksheet is perfect for grade 2 social studies. It asks students to define climate and identify basic human needs. It can lead to a great discussion how basic needs are influenced by a communities climate.

This booklet provides students with serveral scenarios in which they must determine the probability of the outcome using a scale (impossible---unlikely---likely---certain). The final two pages requires them to create their own senerio based on a designated probable outcome. The booklet can be used at a math center or sent home for homework.

This is a great way to help students understand bird's-eye view. The worksheet explains what it is and then has the students arrange items on their desks and draw only what they see from above. This is great for primary mapping!

This worksheet asks students to define what a celebration is and asks them to list different ways people celebrate around the world. Students can then make a personal connection by writing and drawing about their favourite celebration.

This worksheet has explains 4 different types of toys from around the world. Each explanation is accompanied by a picture and then the students have an opportunity to write and draw about their favourite toy.

I give my students 5 spelling words for the week and they use these two word work pages to practise them. Activities involve writing them in fancy letters, identifying the vowels and consonants, and even drawing pictures of them. It's a great tool to have because students can complete this page independently, while I work with small reading groups! You can use the same two pages with new words over and over again each week!

This is a great way for students to demonstrate their understanding of a community, as well as provide examples of various types of communities.

This form is a great classroom management strategy. Students are to fill out an incident reflection form for any behavioural issues (i.e. classroom/ school rules broken, unsafe conduct). They are to complete the form and have their teacher and parents sign the form.

This is a great way to highlight different ways people communicate around the world. Students learn that they two main ways to communicate are through speech and writing. They then have the opportunity to compare a few languages. I used this for grade 2 social studies and the students loved it!!
