Danielle Kinley is the creator of MySchoolium homeschool unit studies. She is a current homeschool teacher to a 1st and 3rd grader and a former K-12 teacher. She is also a curriculum writer for various publishers and picture book creators.

Here at MySchoolium, we believe in fostering a love of learning. We believe in exploration and deep dives into topics students are truly interested in. All of our themed lesson plans are made with the whole child in mind - integrating science, art, math concepts, engineering, geography, and nature studies. We believe in engaging with books rich with stories and information. We believe in building, creating, getting our hands dirty, and being immersed in nature.

THEME BASED Theme-based lesson plans allow students to explore topics they are interested in, provide context for the subject matter, and allow for deeper dives into topics while exploring the interconnectedness of core subjects. Literature, language arts, science, art, math, and history do not need to be fragmented subjects. They all can inform each other for a richer and deeper learning experience. HANDS-ON Every day ends with a hands on lesson at MySchoolium. Whether creating an art project, building a model, or testing a science concept, every day your student will use their hands to make. Hands on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) is proven to be an extremely effective way for students to synthesize and retain information. It’s also fun! LITERATURE RICH At MySchoolium, every day begins with a topic - related reading from a carefully selected book. Reading and discussing information and ideas from the text is an incredible way to foster critical thinkers who are confident in themselves and their abilities to find and synthesize information. A literature rich environment is the best way to support and encourage a love of learning. TEACH MULTIPLE LEARNERS AT ONCE Have multiple kids at different levels? MySchoolium is geared toward students ages 5-9 so you can teach multiple age levels at the same time. Whether your child is just starting school or advanced for their grade, MySchoolium lesson plans are easily adjustable to meet your student where they are. Learning about the world around us through science, art, and literature has no grade level.
