This is a twenty-one questions quiz/worksheet that deals with simple sentences, compound, complex, and compound complex sentence types, as well as independent and dependent clauses. This book report alternative activity allows students to choose from five written options to prove their creativity and knowledge of ANY content/novel. They could do this individually or with a partner. Each question also has a "driving question" for them to think about, taking their basic comprehension to a literary analysis.
This is a 22-question quiz/worksheet that utilizes basic comma rules. Commas in a series, date, commas with two or more adjectives, compound sentences, and locations. This is a great time saver, and if you're not teaching commas (Gotta love those Common Core Standards!), it could be a discovery lesson where students need to go search for the rules themselves!

Students will choose an article from approved websites and create interview questions based on that article. I give them time in class to work with a partner to create a live interview and record it!
