This is a modified version of 5th Grade Go Math Chapter 3 concepts with a review packet and test in the same format. I created this resource to use with a special education student, and the simplified wording and extended practice with similar story problems made content mastery easier. This would work well for students struggling to grasp the concepts in the chapter, including special education, Tier 2, or ELL students. An answer key is included for the both the review and test.
Can your students identify fractions and decimals based on a shaded model to the thousandth place? Great! Can they do the opposite, shading in the model when given a fraction or decimal? Practice doing the inverse task can solidify understanding and help students develop more understanding of place value. Three models are provided on the page, and you can have students shade in numbers for extra practice.
This resource is perfect for students who need frequent review of concepts, and extra space to complete work! Material from chapters 1 and 2 of 5th grade Go Math is woven in for spiral review, along with material from Chapter 3, Lesson 1: Writing the fraction and decimal for shaded model for decimal to the tenths place, and filling in a table to show 10 times and 1/10 of numbers in the tenths and hundredths place. There are two of each problem type, so you can have students complete one in class
These large-sized chart allows for students to practice writing numbers in standard, expanded, word and picture form. The first chart has each place value separated. The second chart gives space for students to write out the expanded form with plus signs, and the word form without separating each digit. The third chart removes the scaffold of "and" before the decimal value in word form.
Are your students struggling with Go Math Lesson 2.3? Are they finding it confusing to model division with 2-digit divisors using base-10 blocks? This work mat is the perfect way to help make the concept more clear. Have your students write the problem at the top, then the dividend and divisor. Place Base 10 blocks in the dividend box, then distribute following the number on the side of the divisor box. Students should be able to see the quotient when all blocks are distributed. Mat can be lamin
