About the store

Experience

I am a retired elementary music teacher.

Teaching style

When I was teaching, I always wished I had more time for planning listening activities. I also enjoyed singing folk songs with my students and coming up with a countermelody as a second part. These are two areas I focus on, and I have added a new area just recently - music listening with creative writing and drawing. Cross-curricular activities have always been an interest. I think a teacher should try to plan activities their students will love, and that, in turn, will make them better students.

My own education history

I have a bachelor's degree in music education and a master's degree (Indiana Univ.) as well as Kodaly certification.
