About the store

I have been teaching special education in a Middle School setting for 3 years. I have supported language arts and math classes and taught social skills and behavior management groups as well. Many of the documents on my site are things I have created over the past years to help with my organization of data collection and other paperwork. Graphic organizers, behavior trackers and other instructional aids are things I have created for my students within the classroom setting. I also have experience teaching summer creative writing workshops to students between the ages of 4th-9th grades.

Experience

My own education history

I grew up in the homeschool community and then decided in high school that I wanted to become a teacher. I liked the creativeness involved with the job and also being able to work closely with students within their educational journey. I attended community college and then went to a university for three years for my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. Once out of college I accepted a job at a Middle School and have taught there the past three years.

Additional biographical information

I love teaching reading and writing to students, especially those who are hesitant about the subject at the beginning of the school year. I like making writing instruction interactive and as fun as possible in order to engage my students in the writing process. I enjoy writing on my own as well and have self-published a children's novel, When Two Worlds Meet, on Amazon Kindle Publishing. I currently reside in Maryland where I enjoy the finer things in life, like coffee, chocolate and a good story.
