For those students who finish work quickly, they select a card and continue with that activity. I have 2 sets of these in a box, laminated. In a tub next to the box of task cards are display folders with colouring in sheets, find-a-words, maths games and so on.
It is a fast, easy way so that you don't have to keep hearing "I'm Done!"
A quick and easy number activity that can be easily differentiated.
Students select a number (I usually say between 10-50 for example). They then complete the questions on the sheet. It is a great way for students to practice simple mathematical calculations.
An individual reward program sheet with goals set by students (I do it in conjunction with parents).
Students set goals and select their own rewards, this can be edited for each student.
At the end of each session/break, student meets with the teacher and together they decide whether or not their have achieved their goals. If the student has, they get a sticker/stamp in the box, if not, they miss out for that session.
