About the store
I have 16 years of classroom experience spanning grades K–8, including roles as a substitute, para, and classroom teacher in both public and private schools. I’ve worked with students across the spectrum: from academically high-achieving learners to MLLs and students with significant behavioral challenges. My first class made me cry every day until I implemented consistent behavior systems...and that's really what inspired the resources I create today. One of my proudest classroom moments was getting a group of talkative 8th graders from loud chatter to complete silence in under a minute...using only hand gestures.

Experience

I have 16 years of classroom experience spanning grades K–8, including roles as a substitute, para, and classroom teacher in both public and private schools. I’ve worked with students across the spectrum: from academically high-achieving learners to MLLs and students with significant behavioral challenges. My first class made me cry every day until I implemented consistent behavior systems...and that's really what inspired the resources I create today. One of my proudest classroom moments was getting a group of talkative 8th graders from loud chatter to complete silence in under a minute...using only hand gestures.

Teaching style

My classroom vibe is structured, organized, and clear. I balance focus with fun — for example, I created a gamified grammar curriculum called Grammar Quest, complete with experience points and “boss fights.” But my students quickly learn that fun comes second to learning. My products reflect this same philosophy: practical, minimalist, teacher-tested strategies that actually work. You won’t find Pinterest-style fluff here — just tools that make daily classroom life calmer and more effective.

Awards & shining teacher moments

My proudest moment was coaching a team of 7th graders - who had never debated before - to victory in a crosstown debate against the defending 8th grade champions. It was the only first-place win our school had ever achieved. (Ironically, their topic was that math is more important than English!)

My own education history

I hold a teaching certificate and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, with endorsements in reading, language arts, social science, and ELL. My master’s coursework helped me see how lessons connect to the bigger picture of student learning, not just the moment-to-moment strategies. This perspective guides how I design resources for teachers: practical tools that integrate seamlessly into the broader classroom experience.

Additional biographical information

I was the shy kid who never quite fit in, and though I didn’t have that one special teacher to draw me out, I became that teacher for someone else. I love creating and sharing resources: I’ve spent summers overhauling curricula, bringing back extra materials from conferences, and helping colleagues streamline their classrooms. My goal is to help teachers in their first three years implement organized systems and manage classroom chaos effectively. Outside of education, I practice taekwondo and incorporate lessons from martial arts into teaching, and I write creatively, often using ideas from my writing in classroom lessons.
