About the store
With over a decade of experience in education, I bring a unique blend of classroom support, sign language communication, and creative teaching strategies to everything I create. I began my journey as a volunteer at a Deaf elementary school, followed by seven years as an instructional aide—three of those supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students using sign language, and four working with students with a range of learning needs at the middle and high school level. It was in those years, especially in math classrooms, that I discovered my passion for helping students understand complex concepts in ways that made sense to them—often by request! As someone with ADHD, I naturally think outside the box and strive to create materials that are accessible, engaging, and student-friendly. Now a middle school special education math teacher with a Master’s degree and credential in hand, I’ve spent the past three years developing and refining strategies that help all learners thrive in math.

Teaching style

My teaching style is rooted in empathy, creativity, and the belief that every student can succeed. As someone who struggled in school due to ADHD and limited support, I deeply understand the frustration that can come with learning challenges. That experience drives me to design engaging, accessible, and fun math materials that meet students where they are. My goal is to build confidence and help every learner see that they can do math. There’s nothing more rewarding than witnessing that “aha!” moment—when everything clicks and a student’s spark for learning ignites.

My own education history

I didn’t always know I’d become a teacher—but every step of my academic journey led me here. I began at Mt. San Antonio College studying art and graphic design, drawn to creative expression and visual storytelling. It wasn’t until I discovered Deaf Studies that everything clicked. That passion led me to California State University, Northridge, where I earned my degree in Deaf Studies—and where my calling to education truly took root. Deaf Studies opened my eyes to the reality that no two students are alike, and many face multiple, overlapping challenges. I recognized myself in my students—especially those who, like me, struggled in school without the right support. I knew the negative impact that experience had on me, and I became determined to be a positive force for students who often feel unseen. I’ve advocated for my students both inside and outside the classroom ever since. After graduation, I was inspired to further my education in order to better support students with diverse learning needs. This led me to National University, where I earned my Master's degree in Special Education. My educational background, combined with my personal experiences, has shaped my approach to teaching and creating resources that cater to the unique needs of every learner
