Teaching style

My teaching style is built on the belief that high-level mathematics should be challenging, yet deeply engaging. With over 25 years in the classroom, I have mastered the art of 'cloaking' rigorous practice in fun, interactive formats. I specialize in discovery-based learning and problem-solving adventures. Instead of traditional drills, I use unique themes like Hidden Constellations, Make Compound Words, Password Searches, and Escape Challenges to motivate students. My goal is to reduce math anxiety and ignite curiosity by turning every worksheet into a mission. Whether it's Algebra, Geometry, or Calculus, my resources are designed to: ✅ Reinforce core concepts through active participation. ✅ Promote critical thinking with multi-level problems. ✅ Provide versatility with both Digital (Google Slides/Easel) and Printable formats. I don't just teach math; I help students experience the beauty of numbers through play and logic!

Awards & shining teacher moments

For over a quarter of a century, my greatest award has been the transformational success of my students. I have dedicated 24 years to intensive private mathematical coaching and curriculum design, specializing in one-on-one and small-group instruction. My 'shining moments' are measured in the lightbulb moments of my students—when a complex calculus concept suddenly clicks, or when a student who dreaded math discovers they can solve quadratic equations through a 'Hidden Constellation' game. My achievements include: ✨ 25 years of Academic Mentorship: Helping hundreds of students ace their final exams and university entrance tests in Mathematics and Physics. ✨ Curriculum Innovator: Developing a unique 'Math That Rocks' methodology that bridges the gap between rigorous theory and engaging play. ✨ Mastery of Individualized Learning: I have spent thousands of hours identifying exactly where students struggle, allowing me to create resources that anticipate and solve those specific learning gaps.

My own education history

I am a proud graduate of Sofia University 'St. Kliment Ohridski' in Sofia, Bulgaria—the country's leading research institution. I graduated with honors, earning a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Mathematics and Physics. This rigorous dual-specialization curriculum provided me with a profound understanding of both theoretical and applied sciences. I am a Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT), certified to teach Advanced High School Mathematics and Physics. My academic foundation, combined with over 25 years of classroom practice, allows me to bridge the gap between complex abstract concepts and engaging, practical student activities.

Additional biographical information

When I am not designing starry math adventures, you will likely find me surrounded by my favorite companions—animals, and especially my beloved cats. I believe that kindness to all living creatures reflects the harmony we find in mathematics. I am also a passionate fan of Classic Hard Rock! 🎸 The energy, rhythm, and precision of a great rock anthem are exactly what I try to bring into my classroom resources. I believe that math shouldn't be silent and dusty; it should have a pulse and a soul! I live in the beautiful city of Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, where I find inspiration in the night sky—the same stars that appear in my 'Hidden Constellation' activities. My goal is to share my love for the universe, music, and logic with teachers and students all around the globe. E-mail: nikimath@abv.bg
