I have 24 years of classroom experience in public education, and I am dedicated to creating high-quality, rigorous, and accessible resources that support diverse learners. Having taught grades 2 through 8, I understand the developmental spectrum of young learners and how to scaffold instruction for maximum growth. My students loved this writing prompt! I used it as an assessment to gauge where they were with descriptive writing. Students will have a chance to write a restaurant review to persuade others to attend Thanksgiving at a particular place. Attached are the prompt, a checklist, a rubric, a "how to" on writing reviews, and an example review for students to see how easy this can be. Descriptive vocabulary is a must in order for this writing piece to be fun and unique!

My teaching style is intentional to manage differentiation and to ensure high engagement.

My own education history

I have a BA in Education from Florida Atlantic University where I also earned my ESOL endorsement. I added on a gifted and elementary math and science endorsement after graduating. In addition to that, I earned an add on for middle sciences (earth, life, and physical) in grades 6-8.

Additional biographical information

I come from a family of teachers. My mom taught English for 34 years in middle and high schools. My dad taught middle school and high school history for several years. I am a wife and mom. I have twin 19 year old girls and two fur babies.
