I have been working as a sixth grade mathematics teacher in Pennsylvania since 2014. I also have experience teaching eighth grade mathematics in Virginia (2007-2014) and sixth grade mathematics and science in North Carolina (2006-2007).
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Information Technology. After graduating, I received Professional Teaching Certifications in Mathematics 7-12, Elementary K-6, and Mid-Level Mathematics 6-9.
My passion for education and technology led me to discover innovative ways to integrate technology into my classroom. The use of technology not only motivated students but facilitated higher level thinking. My involvement with technology integration persuaded me to earn a Master’s degree in Educational Technology. During my graduate coursework I also earned a graduate certificate as a technology integration specialist.
My experience as an educator has featured teaching and motivating students from multiple demographics and ethnic backgrounds. I have found success in designing and implementing standards-based curricula that meets the needs of all student learners. The use of technology in my lessons has enhanced student learning by providing an opportunity to develop 21st century skills.
