Digital Escape Room Patterning

This is a fun and engaging digital escape room that ties in perfectly with the Grade 7 Patterning Unit. My students loved the questions, and the surprise twist in the middle. This also works as a great review before your final assessment. It also worked great as a review for my Grade 8 Math class too! It also meets the CCSS as listed in the product description, and the Ontario Grade 7 Math Curriculum for Patterning. I am always looking to improve so any and all feedback is definitely appreciate

Design Your Own City! Surface Area and Volume Project

My students absolutely loved this project. It gives them a chance to practice calculating volume and surface area of a variety of shapes (some given to them, others they can choose) while working in a 3D environment. Perhaps the biggest draw for my students was that they actually get to design their own city. This was definitely the biggest draw for them in regards to this project. This project can take a fair bit of time, but because it is so engaging I found that the students were on task for

This is great coding assignment for grade 7/8 students. I recommend using Scratch for students to create the finished product. Included is a breakdown of the assignment, some extension options, a rubric, and some helpful hints for anyone that is new to teaching coding.

This is a super fun scavenger hunt activity to get your students up and moving. I find that this is a great opportunity for them to work on using what they have learned about calculating surface area and volume in a real world setting. The desk dilemma is also a hit with my students. I have found that they get really invested in finding out about the items that they use on a daily basis. There are two versions of this problem. One with inches and one with centimeters. This version has inches.

Are you looking for a fun and engaging math assessment for your financial literacy unit, then you have found the perfect fit! This is a super fun and engaging financial challenge for your students. They have to make the best financial decision and then justify it with their calculations. They have three scenarios to navigate through and must use currency conversion and interest calculations (simple and compound) to make the best financial decisions. They have to solve for each of them in order t

This is a great assessment for when you are finished teaching circumference and area of circles. It has levelled questions in order to check the depth of your students understanding. It also comes with a challenging bonus question to help challenge some of your students that require a bit more of a challenge. It also comes complete with a rubric, and a complete answer key. The answer key is extremely detailed, but if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, definitely reach out to me. I am

Super fun and engaging 3D class challenge. The goal is to get students comfortable working with 3D software (such as Tinkercad) and allowing them to create something as a community. One of the amazing parts about this is at the end of each year you end up with a new class chess set that you can either give away to students, or keep to inspire the next group of students that you are working with. My students absolutely loved this project and couldn't wait to vote on the winners and for the class

Additional biographical information

Just like you I am often at a loss for how to get through to my students and how to teach what is essentially ends up as multiple grades at once while dealing with a wide range of needs within the classroom. I like to mix up my lessons and have them work in a variety of group settings. My lessons come with slide shows that you can choose to follow (or print out and put under the document scanner) or you can just use them as a guide for the lessons. I also make sure to include a rubric with every assessment. If you ever find an error please let me know. Thanks for stopping by!
