Normandy Bernard

This is a fun art project that can be made with students of many different ages! I write it out for you and show examples step by step! Even the least artsy person in the world can do this project! My 4th graders did fantastic as well as my high schoolers! There are supplies that need to be purchased (carbon paper, around $7 for 100 sheets) but the rest of the supplies are basic school supplies!

This map can be used within the classroom for a novel study of the book Chasing Redbird by Sharon Creech. Students can each have their own or teachers can use one of the sizes of big posters to print and tape together to make a medium or large poster! I like to use this while doing a novel study or read aloud with my class. We use pins and string to show the trail that Zinny is taking! It really helps to engage students in this story!
