Nowitzki Notes

This project is typically used at the end of a descriptive or narrative writing unit. It will practice their skills and creativity. On the first day of writing, I had out seven post-it notes. These questions correspond with the book Touching Spirit Bear. There are 150 comprehension questions that include literary analysis at the end of the story.

This Comprehension Check can be used for any novel excerpt. I use this in a UDL unit that allows my students to pick from eight different novel excerpts. It is a quick assessment to see if they are understanding the material.
