This folder includes 28 weeks of sixth grade homework aligned to the Illustrative Mathematics Curriculum. These homework assignments have new topics at the top of each day and review concepts at the bottom. There are 4 to 5 problems per day Monday - Thursday. I assign the homework on Monday and collect it on Friday. The folder consists of 28 individual google docs that can be edited for holidays or other events. Each homework assignment is two pages. Monday and Tuesday are on the first page and
These sixth grade geometry stations practice area and perimeter of several shapes including triangles, rectangles, parallelograms and trapezoids. This file includes a recording sheet for students to record their answers and an answer key.
In this puzzle students match the numerals 0 to 20 with the ten frames 0 to 20. When completed it makes a large polygon. This is a great activity for centers or early finishers. Students can work together to complete or play as a I have who has game.
This giant triangle puzzle encourages students to decompose numbers using 5 and 10. Students put the triangular pieces together to form a giant triangle by matching the rekenrek image with the numeral.
Review or teach mean, median and mode using this foldable for student notebooks.
The two pages should be copied back to back. Then students should cut along the dotted lines and fold flaps up to create the foldable. It can then be glued or taped into notebooks and completed.
When you hang these cards around the room they create a trail for students to follow. The answer on top connects to a previous problem on another card. When students complete them all in order they should get back to the one they started with. The cards are currently in order, so be sure to hang them around the room out of order!

When you hang these cards around the room they create a trail for students to follow. The answer on top connects to a previous problem on another card. When students complete them all in order they should get back to the one they started with. There are two trails included in this set. The gray trail is less difficult and the dark trail is more difficult. The cards are currently in order, so be sure to hang them around the room out of order!
Egyptian fractions are a practical application of adding and subtracting fractions. Students must apply their skills of adding and subtracting to write fractions the way the Egyptians would. This activity is a great way to challenge students to think.
In a treasure hunt activity each problem's quotient is found somewhere else in the room. On the file download the answer is on the card following. Make sure you don't hang them in order! When students do a problem they have to go find the answer in the room and complete the next one,
These balance beams use weights as shapes. Each balance beam and weight equal a different amount. Students use their knowledge of doubles to decompose the total weight into the individual weights.
This is a great way to challenge students to think critically about ordering fractions. They are encouraged to see patterns and connections in the numbers.
This puzzle includes 18 triangles. Each triangle has an equation or number on the edge. When the edges are matched together with the correct equation it creates a large triangle.
This is a puzzle with equations on triangles. Students line up the edges to complete a polygon by matching the number with the correct equation to make it true.
