My own education history

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Gender Studies from Calvin University, where I developed a strong understanding of human behavior, social systems, and the intersections of identity. My academic journey continued with a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Illinois State University, where I deepened my knowledge of social work practice, mental health, and community engagement. This diverse educational background has provided me with a well-rounded perspective on the challenges individuals face, particularly in the areas of social and emotional development. I now apply this expertise in my role as an elementary school social worker in Byron Center, MI, where I work to support students’ mental health, navigate social dynamics, and foster a positive, inclusive school environment.
