Since the start of my career in education, I have taught all elementary grade levels (kinder through 8th), including within multi-age programs, sheltered English immersion, and gifted/highly-capable programs. Most recently I was the principal and curriculum director at a PreK-8th grade dual-language school. There was also one super-awesome year that I shared a contract as a .5 library media specialist :)

Identifying Money: Coins and Bills from Costa Rica
This resource can be used to introduce Costa Rican money to your students with images of the coins and the bills, front and back. Printable 25-26 Planbook: Liberation Watercolor Theme
This simple planbook is an 8.5"x11" printable file with month-at-a-glance calendar pages, updated for the 2025/2026 academic year from July through June, weekly planning pages, and grid paper for notes. Beginning Spanish Reference Bookmarks
Here is a resource for your beginning Spanish students! These are designed to be printed in color, single-sided, then folded in half (length-wise) and added to a 3-ring binder. Students could also just fold in half and glue the flap into notebooks for quick reference as well. Making Thoughtful Choices
After talking about things that are in our control versus things that are outside our control, I follow-up with a conversation where we talk about the choices we make about the things we can control (what we do, say, and think). We practice by sorting choices into "thoughtful" or "impulsive" categories and discuss how choosing thoughtful actions and words is how we start and eventually, that can help us think in healthy thoughtful ways, too. We follow this work up with the book My Hidden Chimp.

My own education history
I earned my BA in Liberal Studies, with an emphasis in Human Development, as well as my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, both from San Diego State University. I completed my induction program through the Silicon Valley New Teacher Project while teaching in the Bay Area and soon after relocated to the Pacific Northwest where I continued teaching and earned my MA in Teacher Leadership. I completed and achieved National Board Certification (focusing on English as a New Language in Early and Middle Childhood) and once built a small nonprofit with colleagues that supports and develops culturally-responsive teachers. I have also been the Principal and Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Director at a teacher-administered multi-age school. I love new experiences and am always up for a challenge!
