About the store
I am a retired elementary teacher who taught math at the 6th grade level for 35 years. Eighteen years ago I added 7th grade math to my schedule. I also taught 8th grade math for 4 years, and in my last two years of my career, I became a high school ELL math teacher. That title came with no experience, very little Spanish, and no resources.

About the store

Experience

I am a retired elementary teacher who taught math at the 6th grade level for 35 years. Eighteen years ago I added 7th grade math to my schedule. I also taught 8th grade math for 4 years, and in my last two years of my career, I became a high school ELL math teacher. That title came with no experience, very little Spanish, and no resources.

Teaching style

I had high expectations of all of my students. I believe that all students can learn math, and I loved seeing the look on a student's face when they finally understood a concept with which they'd been struggling.

My own education history

Bachelor's of Science degree in elementary education and physical education from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa; Master's of Education degree in athletic administration from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota

Additional biographical information

I live in northwest Iowa and loved teaching and coaching. I'm a huge fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Duke Blue Devils and spend a lot of my free time cheering on my favorite teams, including our high school teams. I also enjoy golfing, reading, listening to music.
