Currently in my fourth year teaching first grade. I have taught for two years in Utah, and two years in South Carolina. I am certified K-6, and to teacher ESL students. Worksheet to use for guided or independent practice with growing patterns. Has 10 examples of growing patterns with a blank for students to fill in with the missing number. They also need to circle the correct "rule" that makes the pattern correct out of three options. I included an answer key as well.

This resource is for use to practice words that use the chunk "ank" or words in the "ank" word family. I made it for use in my own classroom and figured it might be useful to others. I have students highlight the words with the word family, read the sentences aloud for practice, then record themselves reading the sentences on Seesaw. It is good practice for words within the word family, as well as other chunks we have practiced so far during the year.

Experience

Teaching style
My teaching style comes from a million different places! I use some principles of Responsive Classroom, as well as draw from many philosophies for behavior management. I believe in a Balanced Literacy model, while using the Reader's and Writer's workshop, in conjunction with explicit phonics instruction. I love integrating across subject areas, and using children's literature to teach math.
