Experience

I'm a ninth-year high school teacher with a background in both education and mental health. I currently teach AP Language + Composition and American Literature, and previously worked as a School Social Worker for five years. My resources are designed to support meaningful, engaging instruction with a focus on student voice, critical thinking, and real-world relevance.

Teaching style

I promote social-emotional learning through experiential activities and enjoy building creative curriculums that engage students! My background in SEL directly impacts the curriculum I write, and the way I approach topics is student-centered and trauma-informed.

My own education history

I received my Bachelor of Science with a focus on Child Life Therapy from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse in 2013. I completed a Master of Social Work with advanced study in School Social Work from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (UIUC) in 2017, followed by a Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction and English from UIUC in 2023.
