About the store

Experience

I am currently teaching first grade in Middleburg, Virginia. This is my nineteenth year teaching. I taught third grade for 3 years and first grade for 15 years.

Teaching style

My students have called me crazy, funny, and weird. I will do anything and everything to keep their attention. While I am teaching, I wear hats, masks, wings, make funny voices, have them make pretend, use puppets etc. I see teaching as a one-man show. If your show is boring, people will leave. If your teaching is boring, no one will learn.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I won the honor of being Carter G. Woodson Elementary's 2014 Teacher of the Year.

My own education history

I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Towson University. I have several STEM master's credits from Salisbury University. I have been the presenter at a few different conferences for my cross-curricular PBL projects.

Additional biographical information

I love to do anything outside! Hiking, camping, and gardening are my favorites!
