"Guess my Halloween Costume" Descriptive Writing
Need a way to get your students to add DETAILS in their writing?... I know how hard that is! So I created a draft for students to describe their Halloween costume in details for someone they don't know to read and guess. The details should be descriptive but should not give it away! (show not tell!)
This is perfect to partner with another class in your building or to write to pen pals with!

Trying to find fun ways to have your kids practice spelling words? These worksheets have many different options for the students to choose from for the whole year that they won't get sick of. I would use one of these worksheets for homework per quarter so they get new activities to choose from! Same format.. Just different options! I hope they love it!

Teaching style
My teaching style includes a lot of student involvement, cooperation, and compassion. I love getting students up and moving while learning or practicing new skills. Having students grouped together while working cooperatively has worked wonders thus far with getting the kids to practice social and cooperative learning skills. I love making my classroom feel like they are a part of a family that is working together. This helps to achieve a growth mindset while they learn and boost self esteem. I make sure all of my students know that they are capable of learning to their best ability and that they are cared for at all times.

I graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 2015 with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education along with a middle school endorsement concentrating in math and science.
Additional biographical information
I absolutely love what I do and feel that I am exactly where I need to be. Waking up for this job is an honor and I love every day because of it. There's no better feeling than seeing a child grow before your eyes and knowing that you had a major impact.
Outside of school, I am a cat mom, a huge Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks fan, and I love staying active but I also love eating!
