Playing Scoot is a favorite of mine and of my students because it's so easy and fun to play while giving good data in both open response and multiple choice format.
In this version, students use the 24 task cards to answer questions about place value. They record them on their recording sheet. When the teacher says "Scoot!" the students must go to the next card.
Students will be distracted by how much fun they are having to see that you are actually collecting data!
