It helps them remember to check if their letters are sitting on the line properly, correct spacing between letters/words, correct sizing, punctuation, and if they remembered to use capital letters. After they have checked, they can sign their name at the bottom. Once they get in the habit of checking their work, it will become something they automatically start doing on their own.
