About the store
For me, learning never stops. Even when my kids have finished their 'book work' for the school day they keep on learning. I'm always learning right alongside them and I love it! We've been on this homeschooling journey for eight years now and I love watching my kids learn and get excited about the world around them, especially when that world is our backyard.

'The Kitchen is my Classroom' Recipe Book is a resource where you can print as many of the pages as you want so that your family can create a collection of your favourite recipes. These pages are great to use for copywork or handwriting practice. If you love this resource check out 'The Kitchen is my Classroom - Let's have some Fun' resource, which I wrote for my daughter so she could enjoy being in the kitchen but at the same time complete some written work, maths, research and lots more.

Experience

For me, learning never stops. Even when my kids have finished their 'book work' for the school day they keep on learning. I'm always learning right alongside them and I love it! We've been on this homeschooling journey for eight years now and I love watching my kids learn and get excited about the world around them, especially when that world is our backyard.

Teaching style

I am a homeschooling mum of three living in rural New Zealand. My kids all have different learning strengths as well as areas for improving on, and they all have varying interests. One of my main focuses for their education is for them to discover what is in their own backyard (New Zealand) before exploring further afield (the world). I want them to understand this beautiful country that we live in - the history, the flora and fauna, the geography, the events that have shaped both the lives of those who call New Zealand home and the landscape that they live in. When looking for resources that fitted with this philosophy, and in a style that fitted our family, they were few and far between so I decided to create our own resources - resources that incorporated my kids interests, and where applicable, as much about New Zealand as possible, while getting in some sneaky reading, writing, maths and problem solving too.
