Complete Sentences, Fragments, and Run On Sentences (Identifying and Writing)

Students will identify complete sentences, fragments, and run on sentences. These can be used as an introduction to sentences, in small groups, with partners, homework, assessment, or for direct instruction. These would be great to use all year long and just before state writing tests to work on conventions. I did not include an answer key because when students correct the fragments, the answers may vary. Students will write and correct both fragments and run on sentences. There are 8 Pag

About the store

Experience

I've taught in a regular classroom setting, grades K-4, for the past 26 years. I also have experience working with inclusion and special education students.

Teaching style

I believe in doing it all. Small groups and conferring do wonders for young children but also teaching to the whole group at once is beneficial, too. I love using games, centers, and technology as much as possible. When possible, I like doing "contracts" where students work at their own pace through a skill with guidance from me when they have their required "check in" conference.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I was named "Teacher of the Year" in 2000 and became a semi-finalist for my school district's title. I've been nominated three times since then and have been in the "Top 3" for my school each time. In addition, I've received other awards such as "Chick-Fil-A's" student recognition award.

My own education history

I'm currently in my 12th year at the same school and have been in the same school system since I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in 1990. I have my undergrad in Elementary Education, my Masters in Elementary Education, my Specialists Degree in Leadership/Administration. I also have my TSS endorsement.
