Base Ten Math Choice Board Using Tens and Ones
This is a basic math choiceboard with base 10 activities. The 1st activity is for students to write a number and show the number using tens and ones. The 2nd activity is for students to roll a number using dice and then draw/write the number, followed by showing the expanded form of the number. The 3rd activity is for students to spell a letter, word, or name using tens and ones. Kids make me laugh!
Teaching style
My students enjoy hands-on learning the most. Promoting process art, using Choice boards, encouraging student voice and student choice, incorporating technology such as iPads and the Smartboard keeps little ones engaged and excited about learning. I love a pop of color as an eye-opener all over the classroom without being overly-stimulating. Each year brings new creatures for studying from tadpoles, mealworms, and caterpillars to guinea pigs and hermit crabs. I believe in developing the whole child and finding the gift in all of us. I hope to make lasting memories for my students as we support each other through learning, laughing and whatever comes our way!
