Bread Study Family Letter and Choice Board Creative Curriculum PreK 3K
I created this upon request for the PreK study on Bread from the Creative Curriculum. The first page is a Family Letter summarizing the unit to inform families about what our study entails. The second page is a summary of the questions we will be focusing on exploring, donation items that are helpful to our unit, suggested reading texts, and vocabulary words we may come across. This is a 17-page packet created with Microsoft Word. It was requested by an interested buyer. Sometimes, looking over 60 pages of a unit can be overwhelming. I created this packet to help me understand and navigate through the unit in a more concise manner. This is a 13-page document made with Microsoft Word so it is editable to meet your needs. Page 1 offers pre-teaching prep and reminders for the 5 Senses unit of study. Page 2 is a basic day-by-day suggested activities guide based on one sense per week. Pages 3 and 4 offers center-based project ideas with questions and statements. Page 5 is a sheet with essential questions, focus questions, enduring understandings, and the PKFCC. Page 6 lists the four anchor texts with book talk suggestions.

Behavioral Observation template 4 boxes
Start your year off right and stay organized by printing a few pages of this template for each student. I have found it helpful to staple this onto the back of a student folder for easy access. I write down behavioral observations and refer to this for report cards and parent conferences. Provides space for a quick jot of observations, date, time, place, and action taken.

Morning Routines Chart to be displayed on the Smartboard or Elmo
As you check students' homework in the morning, display this sign on the Smartboard/Elmo so that students are accountable for their time in the morning. Students should know the routine of placing Hw on desks and reading a book with a focus or reviewing word activities, etc. Can also be enlarged and displayed poster-size for classrooms.

Kids make me laugh!
Teaching style
My students enjoy hands-on learning the most. Promoting process art, using Choice boards, encouraging student voice and student choice, incorporating technology such as iPads and the Smartboard keeps little ones engaged and excited about learning. I love a pop of color as an eye-opener all over the classroom without being overly-stimulating. Each year brings new creatures for studying from tadpoles, mealworms, and caterpillars to guinea pigs and hermit crabs. I believe in developing the whole child and finding the gift in all of us. I hope to make lasting memories for my students as we support each other through learning, laughing and whatever comes our way!
