Hi, I'm Shanel (they/she)! I’ve worked in education for over 20 years, with a background that spans public schools, libraries, museums, and international teaching. I hold a Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies with emphases in African American Studies, Sociology, and Anthropology from UNLV, and I’m CPR & First Aid certified. I’m also a trained artist with an associate degree in Fine Arts—and I use that creativity in every printable I make!
My teaching style is playful, purposeful, and deeply inclusive. I believe in meeting kids where they are, respecting their full selves, and designing materials that spark joy and curiosity. My classroom experience ranges from preschool to 12th grade, with a special focus on literacy, identity development, and student voice.
In 2020, I launched PanParenthood as both a family account and a space to share resources rooted in love, liberation, and learning. We are a queer, multiracial family, and everything we create reflects our commitment to visibility, equity, and care.
