I am a working artist and author of the book, Shadow Lessons, Wipe&Stock Publishers, 2012. I hold a BFA from Atlanta College of Art (1978) and an MFA from Savannah College of Art and Design (2012). I have taught art for over 10 years with my primary focus of urban students. I studied under such teachers as Ansel Adams, Ed Ross, Milton Glaser and Stephen Knudsen.

The Balance of Life and Design
This fantastic art lesson teaches students the beauty of consistency, symmetry and balance. It introduces the line in a parabola format and then the sequencing of a design is developed by the student. If the student is always consistent in their formulas they are guaranteed a great looking design every time. This lesson is a great self esteem builder in that many students that are weak at drawing but strong in math, love to discover that they can become a great designer!
